Building Mental Health – Mental Health First Aiders Social Value Report – 2018 – 2021

In the Construction Industry alone, two people a day take their own lives, and the sector has reported some of the highest levels of mental ill health.

The Building Mental Health (BMH) Framework, launched in 2018, was borne out of a cross industry volunteer group created with contributions from clients, contractors, trade unions, regulators and training bodies.

The purpose is to tackle the mental health crisis in the sector, by providing a flexible and consistent framework to enable all parts of the construction sector to access mental health support, awareness and training, and putting in place structures and systems to support people working in and around the industry.
